FREE FOLK SONG SINGING WORKSHOP with Pearl Leegay-Clarke

Join us for an uplifting singing workshop as we learn folk songs in harmony. We'll start the session with a body, breath, sound warm up and will then learn some traditional songs with original arrangements.

Folk songs are the thread that connects us to the magic of the land and culture in which we live, they create a picture of the times gone before and the lives that have been lived to bring us to the place in which we find ourselves today.

Songs will be taught by ear, in the traditional folk way, so there is no need to read music, and words will be available for the longer songs if you'd like them. Singing is for everyone so you are welcome to come along whether you believe yourself to be a singer or not.

This workshop will be lead by Pearl Legay-Clarke who leads Stroud Folk Choir and Sing Ahoy! Folk and Shanty Choir. She is an experienced workshop facilitator, practiced vocal improviser and sings in the trio The Crooked Penny.
You can check out what she's up to at www.withonevoice.co.uk or follow her on instagram: @pearllegayclarke @withonevoice @thecrookedpenny
