Relaxed Early Opening For Families

British Library, London.

Relaxed Early Opening for Families
FREE. Ticketed. Suitable for ages 5 – 15.

Join us for a free autism-friendly early opening of the Library

This early opening is for families with children on the autism spectrum and other sensory needs. Enjoy the Library free from the hustle and bustle of the general public.

At this special early opening you’ll get the opportunity to visit our current exhibition, Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music. You will also be able to explore our Family Station located on the Upper Ground Floor, plus a special relaxed collage and music-making workshop with artist Yvette Riby-Williams in our Learning Centre. A dedicated sensory room will also be available for children needing a quieter and calmer space. Enjoy this not-to-be-missed gentle, creative morning of exploring.

This event is free and suitable for parents and carers with children aged 5 – 15 years and their siblings.

All visitors to this special early opening will receive a visual story in advance to provide an idea of what to expect on arrival. Please note that the Library opens to the general public at 11.00.
